The Ninth China Expo Forum for International Cooperation to be held in
Approved by the State Council and jointly organized by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI), International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO), the Ninth China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO2013) will be held in Chongqing from January 17th to 19th, 2013. Elites, experts and government officials from domestic and international exhibition industry will converge at this charming city, and the global exhibition industry will also have its eyes on this platform. In this forum, we will forecast the industry trends, share the experience of business growth, and look for win-win cooperation opportunities.
The first CEFCO was held in Beijing on January 2005, with “Opening-up • Co-operation • Win-win” as the goal. It aimed to build a platform for the extensive exchanges and strategic cooperation for Chinese and foreign exhibition industries, explore the shared interests and common development, seek new channels for international exhibition enterprises to enter China and for Chinese enterprises to explore the international market, promote the legalization, specialization, commercialization and internationalization of China’s exhibition industry. Domestic and foreign government departments and social organizations including National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Association of the German Trade Fair Industry all actively supported the forum. After eight years of growth, CEFCO has become a brand forum in international exhibition industry.
Themed “Vista via Redefinition of Growth”, then Ninth CEFCO consists of two plenary sessions and four concurrent sessions. The two plenary sessions will cover international economic trends and the corresponding impacts on convention and exhibition industry after the election year, and the construction of mega venues in China and the impact on the “floor plan” of China’s exhibitions. Future development of the exhibition industry based on the macroeconomic situation will be disscussed. Domestic and foreign representatives will offer their advices and suggestions on the future trend of convention and exhibition industry. At the same time, four concurrent sessions will discuss the hot issues in the convention and exhibition industry nowadays and the specific practices from such aspects as exploring opportunities in the global exhibition market of Chinese oganizers, the critical preparations in the exhibition event acquisitions, the cooperation between international exhibition organizers and China’s secondary and tertiary exhibition markets, and the interaction between organizers and exhibition centers, etc. It intends to explore the way to standing out in today’s fierce competition, thus gradually improving our competitiveness and making our voice heard in the international arena. In recent years, the Forum has attached great importance to the core resources of the exhibition industry, and the well-known domestic and international exhibition organizations and exhibition organizers have shown growing interest in participating in the forum. Meanwhile, in order to enhance the customers’ understanding of CEFCO and the interaction between the organizing committee and the representatives of the industry in the preparatory phase, the organizing committee has collected a wide range of hot issues within the industry, and sent out invitations to domestic key offendees and other organizations through nationwide sub-committees, industry associations and overseas institutions. These efforts have led to the active participation of exhibition center operators, intermediary service organizations and research institutions, etc.
Coming from more than 30 countries and regions, nearly 4,000 representatives from the exhibition industry and other fields from have participated in the previous eight forums, achieving fruitful results in business cooperation and exchanges as well as information communication. Based on previous forums, this forum will attract more than 600 representatives and businessmen in global exhibition industry to gather in Chongqing and share ideas about the future development of the exhibition industry. With the strong support of the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and driven by the solid foundation laid by the previous eight forums and the vigorous development of China’s exhibition industry, the Ninth China Expo Forum for International Cooperation will surely be a significant event in international convention and exhibition industry.
